Mayhem 2014

Let the games (and the funk) begin!
Some of you may be shocked and amazed to hear, that it is not only Dropzone that your friendly OB team play! In fact, before the first rumblings of Hawk producing our much loved masterpiece were heard, our club were very much Warhammer players!

Yes, that may be a dirty word to some now, but never the less most off us continue to play the flawed masterpiece. Why do I bring this up on a DzC blog you may ask? Well, I thought it worth sharing the a few pictures of our Biannual tournament which has just passed, the Mayhem!

Every May and October the Tolworth First Founding club (our club in Surbiton) put on a 50-60 player, 2 day tournament. This runs as 5 games, all unique to the Mayhem, and matches are planned in a swiss format. We have a good spread of regular and new gamers attend each tournament (including someone from Russia this year!), and they all help make it the great event everyone has come to expect. This is also the main reason for the lack of activity over the last two(ish) weeks. Mega Mike has a lot of admin to do, and myself, well, I don't really have an excuse as MM does all the paper work...

This year, in addition to these two events, we hope to be running a charity tournament for Dropzone in the summer! We will keep the blog updated with news on this as it comes, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!

Game 4 on the second day
Myself and Mega Mike, hard at work

  1. Seems like a good time. It is always nice with lots of space between tables.
