OB Podcast Episode 2: Dropping about the Christmas Tree

Many Yule tide greetings to you, citizens of the audio variety! We are happy to bring you the second in our new podcast series, and due to the time of season it is a festive special! In this episode we cover news (including official Hawk info) and our latest hobby projects. It doesn't sound that festive I hear you say? Well, we have included 1000 point 'Christmas lists' for new starters looking to get into the game, including army lists and actual money costs of the lists. For the veterans of the game it is still worth listening too, as we run through some finer points of the units.

With the feedback we received from the first (many thanks to all who commented), we have split our topics and will be releasing an Episode 2.5 in a fortnight or so. This is a discussion about the use of flame weapons in the current meta, so keep you eyes peeled for that! One point we apparently weren't able to take in though was running time, with Episode 2 running almost as long as the first... We just hope you Zoners like to listen to us, as we sure as hell like to talk!

Running times

Introduction: 00:00 - Introduction of the team talking this week; Dan, Ed, Joe and Mike.

News
Dropzone Commander: 2:57 - We discuss the below:

  • Confirmation of some rumours
  • 30mm Models
Chambers in Space: 17:50 - We confab about the space game announced back at Salute, mainly talking about our hopes and expectations for the game.

What Are You Playing At?!: 27:59 - The boys all chat hobby, with their latest projects. Dan talks Scourge and his custom Despoiler, Ed chats about PHR hardships, Joe discusses the finer points of Resistance, and Mike chin wags about his lovely Blotz (or Bolotz for Ep 1 listeners) city.

Christmas Lists: 57:00 - We each go through the lists we have built for new starters, detailing the way the army lists have been made and the methods behind picking them. Each list is built on the plastic starter set, and builds up to 1000 points from there.

We hope you enjoy listening, and please leave any comments and feedback you have below!

    1. Depends are you trying to access it through a mobile device? Embed links tend to have issues with full functionality on mobile sites.
If using a Computer you might need to update your flash. Alternatively in the top right of our page is a subscribe link that will take you to feedburner there you can chooses whichever subscription link you like I personally like Itunes becasue apparently I'm old fashioned like that.
      Hope this answer helps.

  2. Great podcast again. Got to see abit more humour in this one, so good job. Would there be any value in posting the 1000pt list including shopping lists on the blog. They sound like good lists but I would have to listen to it several times to get it all down!

  3. Loved the podcast, as new player looking to get into the DzC scene I found it very helpful. Played my first game last night as Resistance, but I want to go UCM for my own personal army. This has helped me a lot. Keep it up guys, looking forward to the next one

  5. Good stuff, really like the style of it. It is a bit to noisy with 4? people, it was perfect with the three in the first one. Just my opinion tho.

    1. I think it was more the change of venue. We used my conservatory for the second one - the acoustics are really bad. Also we did get a little loud at times. We will learn from it though.
